It is part of my mission to work on fostering a collaborative, unified community of scholars, students, & people in Pullman, WA. I try my best to be involved with organizations that help build a sense of home.
A History of My Service
2021 - Present
Tenor Saxophonist in the Cougar Marching Band: Assistant Section Leader (2024)
Back in 2021, I auditioned to be part of the WSU pep band. I had the opportunity to support the women's basketball team with cheer, music, and enthusiasm as a paid stipend member during the 2021-2022 season. I also got to travel to the PAC-12 tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada, and performed as part of my membership. In the 2022-2023 season I continued to be involved with this organization to play music among a lively community of musicians and then was a paid stipend member again during the 2022 - 2023 season. Additionally, I participated in the Cougar Marching Band during the 2023 fall season before being selected to server as an Assistant Section Leader for the 2024 season. Currently, I instruct 8 members in my section alongside 2 other student leaders that represent the tenor saxophone section.
2020 - 2024
Communication Graduate Student Organization (COMMGRAD): President & Secretary
I served as the secretary of the Communication Graduate Student Organization (CommGrad) at Washington State University from the second year of my M.A. program through the second year of my Ph.D. program in this elected role. As secretary, I was responsible for planning monthly meetings with the CommGrad executive board and take notes as well as written records for the organization. Eventually, I was elected as President for the 2023 - 2024 academic year. In my presidency, I helped with event planning and execution, contributed ideas to improve the community in the Murrow College graduate program, and met with college leadership regularly to support growth for graduate students. In May of 2024, I was recognized for my service contributions with the, "Excellence in Graduate Service Award".
2016 - 2019
Lambda Pi Eta, the Communication Honors Society at Oregon State University: President & Secretary
While completing my B.A., I was extremely passionate about communication studies. I spent multiple years at the secretary and kept records for the honors society. As I moved into my presidential role, I coordinated and facilitated a local communication conference, planned weekly meetings, and worked diligently to support, inspire, and engage with communication students.
